Your website looks like it's developing nicely. Here are a couple of observations. *Nice picture on the top of your pages. Is it one you took yourself? *The links from your home page all worked well. *On the participation page, I notice you will be using a video about communities -- great idea! Is it one you will make or will you be using one from the Internet? *It's a good idea, especially with younger children, to have the note about privacy and security settings. I may borrow that idea. *On the submissions page, I'm wondering what blog widget you're using. I am using a blog (Blogger)as well, and I may want to try a different one if you've found one you like. *I love your community fun page. I tried voting and it worked! The kids will love this. *I tried the Project Feedback link, but didn't get anything. (But maybe that's for the next stage.) Good job, Sara. Karin
You thought a lot about your site...I can tell. Here are some things you might consider and/or questions I have.
-You might want to consider a picture on the homepage...other than the one in the header. It will attract the attention of the little kids.
-A two column layout on some of your pages might "change things up" a bit.
-For your blog pages, you might want consider using 'nabble' instead of the weebly blog. The only reason is that nabble shows all the comments when the page opens. On the weebly blog, you have to click the comment button to see the comments...people might not know they have to do that. The nabble blog is one of the boxes you can drag to the page.
-I love the Community Fun page! How often do you think you will update the picture?
-For your evaluation page, are you going to have them upload their ideas on the evaluation ideas page or are you going to put the ideas there?
-I like that you have a feedback survey. Don't forget instructions on how to submit it. I wonder if there is a way to give the teachers an incentive to complete it. I am just thinking about all the surveys I have gotten and how I usually don't take the time to fill them out unless there is an incentive.
I really liked the quick loading time and simplicity of your website. I think that it's good to have so you don't scare off new teachers to the internet and GLP's. I do agree with Michelle, that you should add a little bit of flash to attract the younger students and hold their attention.
I'm envious of how easy it seemed to have your blogs incorporated into your site. My wix site doesn't let me do that easily. (Or at all, at my current point!) I think that having the posting ability will help attact participants to your GLP. I think that you're off to a great start!
your site is very clean and well orgainzed. I was able to read through the site without getting lost or missing any information. The video from teacher tube will be fun for the students. I like the privacy section where you said that the students can take the pictures rather than be in them. Great job on your site, Angela
